As Christians we are advised: The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Prov 22:7. So we chose to live free of debt. However, in America it’s not unusual to find ourselves using credit to buy something we want now. Credit has been so easy to get that we have abused it and now find ourselves individually, in debt, and as a nation, bankrupt according to David Walker, former Comptroller General of the United States.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can do something about it by changing our attitude about money. Robert Kiyosoki says that on payday rich people use their money to invest in an asset; poor people use their money to buy stuff. So the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. This is nothing new. Folks have known this for a long time. The problem arises when even though we know this truth we don’t use the information to our advantage.

So, let’s say you have decided to make some changes, like get out of debt including your mortgage. Maybe you want to save money and not buy any more stuff. How are you going to make the changes when everything in you knows that basically people don’t change? What if there was a way to accomplish your desired goals with little to no changes to your lifestyle? What if there was a way to not only get out of debt and begin to build wealth,but a way that would also include owning your home free and clear. Would that be a good thing?
